Africa - An Emerging Market of Opportunities

Risks identified to help your business succeed in Africa.

In November 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan issued a joint declaration announcing the formation of the Asia Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC) initiative.  Singapore has been identified as being one country that could play a major role as a contributor to the AAGC and also be a substantial economic beneficiary.

The purpose of this risk management workshop is to encourage potential businesses interested in the AAGC to gain an understanding of the potential risks and solutions when operating in particularly high risk emerging markets.

Anti-Corruption Workshop

For UK Businesses, Employees and Individuals

Preventing bribery and corruption is the responsibility of every person at every level in an organisation, not just staff working in an anti-bribery & corruption role.  Corrupt staff and contractors have caused significant loss and reputational damage to organisations via the theft of data and trade secrets.  Having greater knowledge in preventing corruption that goes beyond mere awareness is an attribute being demanded by organisations today.

This workshop has been designed to meet the needs of UK companies, or foreign organisations who employ UK citizens or third parties who are covered by the UK Bribery Act.  The prime focus of the workshop is the defence provision of “adequate procedures” available under the UK Bribery Act to the offence by commercial organisations of failing to prevent bribery.  The workshop will outline advice published by the UK Government on what is meant by adequate procedures but supplement that information with practical recommendations on bribery prevention gained from extensive experience operating in high risk situations and high-risk markets.

Some of the topics covered at this workshop are:-

  • Introduction to ASO37001 Anti-Bribery Management Standard
  • The Corruption Process
  • UK Bribery Act
  • Adequate Procedures in High Risk Jurisdictions/Situation

When: Thursday, 14th December 2017

Where: Sofitel Resort, Sentosa

Time: 8.30am - 4.30pm

Ticket Price: S$399

Anti-Bribery & Corruption Workshop - People are the weakest link (Singapore)

ABC Workshop Programme Outline_page_1.png

The theme for this 2 full-day ABC workshop is about people – the weakest link in any organisation or greatest threat to any organisation. The risk to any organisation of being caught in a corruption scandal is ever present regardless of the local and foreign environment they operate in or interact with and the ABC risk management plan that is in place. No amount of due diligence conducted on staff, third parties and organisations can fully safeguard the organisation.

This workshop in Anti-bribery and corruption has been designed to meet the needs of managers and staff working in or doing business with organisations that originate from or are situated in countries that are regarded as being of high risk to corruption.

It has been designed to extend the participant's knowledge beyond compliance with local and international ABC laws whilst aligning with the current strategic focus of many countries to combat corruption.
